I have tried everything Lord, but if you say so.....

After what had taken place spiritually in my home, I had a real urge to go to church on Sunday. Having not been to church for quite a while, I had no idea which church I would attend. I googled my 'postcode and church', and a few churches came up. After browsing the website of a church, I clicked on the audios that were on the website of the previous Sundays sermon. The pastor was sharing about how someone had come forward for prayer to break addiction to cigarettes and ended up getting several spirits cast out of her. This peeked my interest, so I decided this would be the church that we would visit on Sunday.

It felt strange to be in church again after so many months of not going. During the sermon, the visiting preacher spoke on this verse:

Luke 5-(AMP)
Now it occurred that while the people pressed upon Jesus to hear the message of God, He was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret (Sea of Galilee).
And He saw two boats drawn up by the lake, but the fishermen had gone down from them and were washing their nets.
And getting into one of the boats, [the one] that belonged to Simon (Peter), He requested him to draw away a little from the shore. Then He sat down and continued to teach the crowd [of people] from the boat.
When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon (Peter), Put out into the deep [water], and lower your nets for a haul.
And Simon (Peter) answered, Master, we toiled all night [exhaustingly] and caught nothing [in our nets]. But on the ground of Your word, I will lower the nets [again].
And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish; and as their nets were at the point of breaking,
They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and take hold with them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.
I knew the reason Holy Spirit wanted me to go to church that particular Sunday. God was asking me to trust Him again for our healing. I believe this (along with this promise), is a promise that He has given me for my family. It is a personal promise for me to hold onto. I believe that Holy Spirit wants me to believe for my healing even though I have worked for years exhaustingly with doctors, nautropaths, diet changes, medication  supplements, laying on of hands by other Believers,  prayer etc towards my healing. And I, like Peter, feel like I have tried everything and nothing has worked, but if He says so, I will continue to listen for Holy Spirit's direction and believe for my healing.

  1. It's so amazing how we are always on the same page. I have been toying with the idea of finding a little church to attend. I must pray! And pray! And pray! Pxo

  2. I love how God keeps nudging us to follow what He he desires for us! Isn't it a blessing when we obey and we know instantly that we have pleased God by our obedience? We're still searching for a new church home after moving several months ago. It is frustrating, but we are trusting God that He will show us to the right one for us!

    Blessings, Joan

  3. I'm amazed at your bravery. Going to church! Incredible, friend. You inspire.
