He loves me more than sparrows

photo taken at the beach where I went on a 'date' with my King.
(You can see the shadow of my hand and my mobile phone in the bottom right hand corner!)

The last few months have been challenging. Mighty Prince Warrior has had a project on that has required him to work 11 hour+ days, 6 days a week . So because of this,  my best friend and team player has been unable to contribute to help looking after the boys. The result? Tired, grumpy and burnt out Me. (I am a homeschooling Mum - but that doesn't make me super-human!) Usually I can take a few hours to myself weekly to have a break from the Boy Warriors, but because of Mighty Prince Warrior's crazy work schedule, I haven't had the opportunity.

A few weeks ago, I went to church without Mighty Prince Warrior as the poor guy had to work on Sunday, to complete the project within the deadline he had for his customer. He is just as burnt out as me. The message was from Song of Solomon 2:15-
Catch all the foxes, those little foxes, before they ruin the vineyard of love, for the grapevines are blossoming!
I am blessed to be part of a church that has phenomenal men and women of God bring a incredible messages for us week, after week, after week. This Sunday was no different. Our Senior Pastor spoke of the little foxes that destroy our relationship with God, our family, our friends or our businesses if we don't get rid of them. One 'fox' that he spoke of was 'weariness'.

I went up the front for prayer at the close of the meeting and a woman that I hadn't met before that day, prayed for me. Not knowing me or my situation, she said to me, "I feel like God is telling me that you need to get away just with Him and for some reason the place is the beach. There will be something about the saltwater that will be so refreshing for you. You will feel His presence so close at the beach that while you are walking, you will look down in the sand expecting to see His set of footprints in the sand." My heart melted and tears streamed down my face. She was right and had heard straight form God's heart.

The day before I had been talking to Mighty Prince Warrior about my need to have a break form the kids and I mentioned to him that even if we got a babysitter in, I would have no clue where to go and what to do with my time away to refresh. My King had heard me, and told me exactly what He wanted me to do to feel refreshed. That's how much He is into the details of my life. That's how much He loves and cares for me.

What happened next overwhelmed me. After I had been prayed for, and was wiping copious amounts of tears away, my friend came up to me and said, "I really feel that God is telling me to come to your house once a week and mind your boys so that you can get way by yourself, just until the end of the year." I actually had to get her to repeat herself, as I didn't quite understand what she was saying the first time. I thought that maybe I had misunderstood what she was saying. It was too good to be true. God had not only told me where He wanted me to go to spend time with Him, but had provided a way for me to go, with my friend minding my children for me.
“What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. {Luke:6-7}
And so I took my generous friend up on her offer to mind the boys so that I could go on a 'date' with my King by the beach. What an invitation He gave me, how could I refuse? He asked me to spend time with Him, and provided a babysitter - now that is romantic! My time with Him has been so sweet, as I sit and stare at the ocean that He created, and spend time with the One who loves me more than sparrows and never forgets about me.

Still taking lessons from the King,

    I love that verse from Song of Solomon. Those foxes are cunning and we need to ever vigilant. A good reminder to me, to look after me and to make time (in all the craziness) for my King also.
    You bless me. xx
