What a difference a year makes

~The Birthday Girl!~

It was birthday this week, and I have been reflective about the time that has past between my last birthday until now. 12 months ago I was lonely, suffered from depression, had an OK marriage and was just getting by. I felt like a flower that was wilted. Now? I feel like a beautiful flower thriving in my enviroment. I have been healed of my depression, have been blessed with amazing friends and my marriage is not just OK, but incredible. So what was the difference? I started trusting Him and planted myself in good soil.
I have always loved this proverb:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will make your paths straight. PROVERBS 3:5-6
When I started to seek God and trust Him for everything, He started to move. I committed to read His Word everyday. Not just read it - meditate on it. I changed the music that I listened to and started listening to worship music, having it on in the background whenever I could. I started changing the way I spoke. Did it line up with the Word of God? If not, I changed what I said. I put my roots down in good soil - deep.
I am a different person to what I was 12 months ago. Why? Because I dared to trust Him
Still taking lessons from the King,
