About my father's business

Courageous Boy Warrior with Daddy's circuit boards

Working hard about their father's business

Leader Boy Warrior hard at work

I love how our King speaks to us through everyday circumstances. He speaks to me a lot that way, much like Jesus spoke in parables when He was here on earth.

Today was such an exciting day in our house. Mighty Prince Warrior has been swamped this week with exta work, so unfortunately, he had to work through the weekend to catch up. So, he decided to enlist the help of Leader Boy Warrior to get the job done quicker. Leader Boy Warrior was overjoyed! He had been asking for a long time if he could help his father with his work and up to this time, his request had been denied. But not today. Today, his father needed his help to get a job done.

So Leader Boy Warrior went into his Daddy's workshed and Mighty Prince Warrior showed him what was needed to get done. It was a simple task, but Leader Boy Warrior didn't care. He was working side by side with his Dad on an important job, that he couldn't get done without Leader Boy Warrior's help.

After about half an hour, Courageous Boy Warrior asked if he could help too. His Daddy said, "sure son!" Leader Boy Warrior then told Courageous Boy Warrior that "it is a boring job, but I like doing it." And so now, because of the enthusiasm of his elder brother, Courageous Boy Warrior worked in his father's business too.

Then my King spoke to my spirit, "Princess, see how delighted Leader Boy Warrior is to do his father's work even if it is a boring job? That's the attitude that melts my heart. I have asked you to a job too, and sometimes it is boring. But I want you to learn from your son's example today. Know that even when it's boring, you are working side by side with Me, and what I have asked you to do is so important.
See how Leader Boy Warrior's attitude to working for his father is contagious? That's the attitude I want you to have. What I have asked you to do is My work. I can't do it without you Princess. "

My King has asked me to homeschool my 3 Boy Warriors, be a good home maker, good wife, good daughter, good sister, good friend just to name a few. Sometimes these things are boring. Some nights I can't bear to clean the kitchen again only to get it messed up again in the morning. Other times I have moutains of laundry to wash, hang out, fold and put away. And it is boring. But I am working for my Father. I don't always have the best attitude towards it, I complain, whinge and moan. But now I need to change my attitude. After all, my King needs me to do a job only I can do. Maybe by changing my attitude, I too, like my son can encourage others in my enthusiasm to also work for the King.

John 15:14-16 (New Century Version)
14 You are my friends if you do what I command you.15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know what his master is doing. But I call you friends, because I have made known to you everything I heard from my Father.16 You did not choose me; I chose you. And I gave you this work: to go and produce fruit, fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you anything you ask for in my name.

Still taking lessons from the King,

  1. Oh Jo ... this is just what I needed to read right now, and I mean NOW! I have been impatient, grumpy, whinging and just generally in a foul mood ALL day. This is NOT Jasmine's fault, but she, at times, has not helped. My "job" is boring ... working for others, running a home, bringing up Jasmine alone, the washing, cooking, cleaning, and the list goes on. But, it is a job that the Lord wants ME to do. So, thank you my dear friend. Love you lots for this one! P :) xo

  2. Wow! Thank you for this! I'm sure I'll be back to read it again - because it is a wonderful reminder and a wonderful picture.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on my lessons!

I appreciate you taking the time to comment.
